Chewy.com Review

I was tired of making another trip to the store to get something for the cat and this for the dog but they can’t do without! I mean they are my kids! Well, once my kids left the house. And they don’t argue with me like the hubby. I expected to pay a premium and pay for shipping and have to make those “Is it worth it?” decisions but gave Chewy.com a shot.

Here is what I experienced:

I created a Chewy account. I then had fun with adding my pets info. You can enter your pet’s type, birthday, breed, weight, name and picture too. Awww! The account creation was quick and easy. Excellent.

Shipping is free if I order $49.00 or more. If I order less it is a $4.95 flat fee. OK, that’s not bad at all. I would spend that driving to the store and back.

Then I went online shopping and I was surprised at how many products Chewy had and for every type of pet.

You can browse by product or by pet including birds, reptiles & horses. I first looked at dog food and there were more choices than my local pet superstore.

I decided to order the basics and ordered Blue Buffalo canned dog food (trying it out), Pedigree canned dog food (My dog’s favorite), & VetIQ Minties. I was a few dollars short of free shipping so added in a 3 tier cat toy.

I was a little concerned about the shipping delay messages on the site saying that deliveries were running a bit slow due to COVID-19. But to my surprise, the box arrived in 3 days and it was in good condition.

My cat was pretty interested too.

There was a heavy warning and they were right due to the cans of dog food. Yeah, I have to agree it was a bit heavy. Yay for FREE shipping!

The dog food and my husky Rick’s morning Minties, because even dogs get morning breath, received. Very easy.

Rick is a big fan of the canned Pedigree but I thought I would switch things up and let him try some Blue Buffalo too. I’ve heard good and bad about the Blue Buffalo – let’s hope we don’t have the late night runs after a taste test. 😂

The cat toy was my impulse purchase and I was pleasantly surprised. Snapped together in 3 minutes and was more substantial than I thought it would be. Thanks Chewy.

I love the cute little butterfly on top. Now to see if the cat will play with it or turn up his nose and snub my adorable gift to him.

I’m converted. No more last minute surprises that I have to hit the store for pet supplies anymore. So what are my thoughts on this Chewy.com review? This was easy and cost effective.

I haven’t experienced their customer service yet but I have heard great things from my friends in that aspect. I highly recommend you give them a try versus lugging heavy dog food bags from the store.

Chewy.com also has an online pharmacy which I will review at some point too. Overall – I’m a big fan of Chewy.com!

I was always thin growing up. At 115 and 5’6″ I was rail thin in high school. I figured that was just my metabolism until it wasn’t.

In my twenties, I was enamored with a cute guy at the office who had a killer bod, a model side job and an ego to match. That said, I ate freely during my pregnancy – meaning I had packed on some extra pounds that were definitely related to and justified by “eating for two” mentality.  I’m pretty sure there was no “brain development” happening from my jellybean binges and key lime pie escapades.

Regardless, I had gained the weight on my own based on choices I made and I never wanted to be the mom who blamed my child for my extra “baby weight” that never went away. So I started looking for an option to lose the extra 30 pounds that didn’t seem to want to drop on its own. That was when a friend told me about Nutrisystem.
